2 Years back I invested my 2.15 hours and I am gaining return of that investment everyday in my life. Well, some resonance sticks to your mind which keeps humming forever in your life whenever you want. It is about last 20 minutes of this movie which left me spell bound for days and something took place forever in heart called – “HOPE”. This Blog however is not at all about the movie “Shawshank Redeemption” rather it is about message I acquired from it.
"Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies"
While watching this movie, I heard something which left reverberation in my mind for life time forever,
Andy: there are places in this world that aren't made out of stone. That there's something inside... that they can't get to, that they can't touch. That's yours.
Red: What're you talking about?
Andy: Hope.
To define Hope is not as fascinating compared to feeling it - honestly.
Someday I heard words of “Swami Vivekananda” that bad is not when you lost all things of your life, but worst it is when you lose the HOPE which can bring them back :)
I believe - Hope is driving force which keeps pumping your veins when you are lost, but I must also admit that Hope never gives you direction rather it channels your inner strength to find direction. Hope is something which can fight with your destiny. Hope inputs you to do something which outputs more than anything. Life is joyous if there exists a Hope :)
There is beauty in dancing with rain when forks of clock itself come out to accompany you and you can feel them around. However if one doesn’t have hope in life, life becomes just as ordinary clock which just keep you showing the running time. You can feel the moments passing by and saluting you when your life is imparted with Hope, but the absence of hope rather leads you to pass by the moments with some undefined silence in heart. Every moment our actions are results of some spark that is – HOPE, a spark which blooms in mind with all positive strokes and keeps you walking. You never need anyone to accompany you in your journey to help, if you have HOPE to hold your hand. When there is hope, you have everything and you can have anything :)
Some say “HOPE is dangerous thing. Hope makes the man insane” just as what RED said in movie explaining practicality of the life, but what it worth if we hope for something and do not try for it insanely? There are only two kinds of people who are most happy in the world. One is INSANE and other is KID. One who tries INSANELY to achieve something and other who enjoys it after achieving like a KID. Hope is very first step towards the Goal and towards Victory. I won’t say that without HOPE no one can walk, but I would definitely say it’s stronger to walk with HOPE. To be concise - “To move forward, achieve and to enjoy – we all need is HOPE”.
Few more lines, which spanked on my mind,
“Some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up DOES rejoice.”
This ultimately shows the priceless words spoken for the one who achieves victory out of diminished and disastrous circumstances just by keeping Hope in life. Hope makes us to cherish our desire with lot of anticipation confidently. Hope makes your feathers brighter to fly in the direction you want.
“Fear makes you prisoner, Hope set you free” - that’s what I heard and it is so beautiful to believe in. Isn’t it?
It does not end here; coz movie contains many other conversations which are breathtaking. Such as, when Red and Andy are discussing chess,
Andy says: “I would like to carve the chess pieces myself”
Red says: “that would take years”,
And all Andy says with a smile is “Years are what I got, what I don’t have is the rocks.”
But as I said few words are better to feel rather to read :)
Final say - "Whenever I feel down or depressed, I watch out this movie and it always makes me feel better. The best movie is the one that touch the soul and embark within you something indivisible which is only yours - HOPE”!!
